Hi There, I'm heading to Arniston this wkn. But the weather looks dodgy, NW/SW wind, rainy.

I'm  fishing rain or shine, its been a while. Any advice on the above conditions. Last time I was there, I caught loads of blacktail and an elf near 'the pot'. No 4x4, so just gonna walk fro the car park and try my luck, and news of late from Arniston, besides that massive kob that was caught a while ago.

Cheers, thx!

hi siegfried, if you have a 4X4 or if you like walking lol then try otter bay on the westerly winds, iv caught steenbras there, also the cave walk to the side closest to the beach there will be a small cape or flat rock jutting out into the sea cast out to your right there for cob and elf, if you dont have a 4X4 i would suggest the second bay roman beach try there for ofcourse roman , dassie and the odd elf , the boiling pot which is my place of choice would be just after roman beach if you walk up the dune check for for a bench n your left walk pass it and u will see a slight slope if u go down there you will see water beautiful water action hence the name boiling pot , walk down on to the flat rock dont go down to the bottom rock it gets very dangerous! at boiling pot if you can cast 20m or 30m then u can hit the spot loads of elf and kob on a south easter, even when its a westerly elf should be present make sure to have a gaf handy ! the locals there usually throw out a whole pilhard and retrieve it from the 20m spot,i would recommend a chokka and fish bait as i saw no elf coming out with that strategy of using the whole pilchard. if you need any help call me on 084 554 8131 . . and let me know how it goes, i would've gone up that way , but its the fishing comp on saturday at macs im not missing out , stywe lyne:fishn::tight:
