Fished for the first time this holiday yesterday evening from Flat Rock. I spent about 4 hours out on the rock and landed a small sandy and nothing else. I caught it on a pilchard and squid cocktail on a 2/0 hook and 5oz grapnel sinker on my 12' rod and Okuma grinder. I was hoping for more, but the waves were huge and played havoc. I'm going out later this afternoon again - I'll keep you posted on what I get.

Fished last night from the beach at Kleinkrantz. The sea was up and the wash was to the left, so not great conditions. Pulled out a single sea-barbel of about a kilo....at least I didn't blank.....

Went with a few guys to the river in Sedgefield tonight with live mullets but not a single take from 7 rods in the water - only a couple of barbel for the guys who threw a pilchard bait in.
I'm counting this as my blank for the holiday....it's time to catch a fish!
Pity the sea is so rough at the moment.....wonder what's swimming in the Kaaimans.......????
