It seems the fish are safe from punishment by us fishermen at the moment. The fishing reports are few and far between and when they do get posted, it seems the fishermen are like SA's super 14 teams. Well beaten. Whats up around the country? Anyone getting into fish or is the bite too hot for people to let us all know about it!

Drove down to False Bay today (Tuesday).  Bay was like a pond with no swell at all.  Water was crystal clear.  Few boat bottom fishing of the quarry at Fish Hoek.  Saw some commercials (3) heading out for the deep and one pleasure boat returning :pad::to Hout Bay.  There is activity, but everyone is quiet.

Hey Skippy--Ja the bay looks beaut........Heard some geelbek came out night before last but not sure if they were from the quarry at Glencairn or not.The Fish Hoek crew did trek at just after lunch so there might have been something spotted. Not too sure about treks in the morning or the afternoon and I didnt get down there so have no idea what came out. The boat you saw at the corner there near Sunnycove( if its the same one I saw) was looking for tail I think, just drifting and spinning unless those bek did come out there, but even if they did its traditionally not a great time of day to be geelbek fishing!! Last I heard the water is still cold tho but maybe there was a patch of warmer water!

HT said yesterday the guys got tuna in the deep. For inshore tho I saw one bin of smallish geelbek maybe 3 or 4 kilo class on the wall at Kalk Bay and a very lonely looking little kob along with the usual bunchfish. No idea where the bek came out though.

Boats running 220 and 240 and it was a shyte load more than that Tuna Fish let me tell you.
There were big longie and very very small longies.

Even had a billfish out there on a short stick that came undone after a lenghty fight. MILES has better detail on the billfish episode than me. All I know is it smacked one of the caught longies on the short and towed Whale Rider all over the ocean.

The only two days in the whole Ferken year I cant fish. What are the odds.
Well tomorrow I will be there at the Canyon.

Cant bloody wait.

Well, looking at the weather predictions we may not make it to the Canyon.
Shyte the swell is jacking and the NW looks like it may blow. That spells goed gemoer big time.

Hmmmn think I'll go anyway.

What's the latest news on the Tuna? anybody got some numbers? I hear 36 0 ? Longies and yellows.

We are keen to go out on Saturday - does not look too bad 18knots S. Should be doable.  The point seems to have warmed up and 20*c is quiet close in.

Who else is going? Where?

I'll be going out tonight at about 22:00 and back at 06:00 in the morning. Will probably have something like the Complete Flyfisherman under my pillow... Seems all my fishing is done in my dreams lately...

Well it's a good time to be a fisherman. This weekend was a blow out, but Friday saw us into some monster Yellows. Why the hell I kept the 15kg league line on I will never bloody know. We sat on the fish for ages, which is the idea but one a day is fine, then it's great to move onto the heavy stuff and sort them out.

Big fish and good times. Fish nice and close around 20 miles from the point. Water lovely blue and warm. Nice decent swell running which lets us know it's coming to winter.

Will be out tuesday and hopefully more of the same. Wanted to run tomorrow but the better day is Tuesday with a bigger gap between swells so a more comfortable ride.

I know one of our fellow sealiners put also put some big class fine on board.

It's a joy when you're average fish is over 75kg's for the day.
As to how many, well I will NEVER MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN!!!!

Nicve fish Skip! Swell was big and moody today. Anvil was breaking heavily.Could see it even back from Buffells. Penguin said there was no-one out and one charter from Simonstown had run out with clients and turned round and was heading home at round 8 am. Water 13ish and a very very nice colour but maybe thats just because I am so used to this skluched up super-silted SE water weve had all summer . Tell how fussy I am LOL Stayed inside . N o tail . Some small hotties on dropshot and chokka and home. Good to be on the water as always though. Makes for the best nights sleep

Most important thing is you got the old gal back on the water and wet a line.
Had a good chuckle when I saw the guys were getting excited about the weather for this past weekend. I had it as a no go from the previous Sunday but hey...

Tomorrow will be a nice one - can't wait! Will do Wednesday too. Was going for today but a friend spoke some sense into my head. Why bash the hell out of yourself and the boat when the following day has a better swell period.
Just amped up, need to catch Tuna and lots of them.

You can pretty much bet that next weekend is off too so there goes our second leg of the Off-Shore league.

Ah well Here's to screaming reels and aching arms.
