When they first came out a friend gave me one, so I put it on and with first cast I thew a overwind on the coffee grinder and whilst I was sorting out the problem a huge skippy came tail walking past the stern of the boat with the banjo minno in its mouth. Needless to say that's the last I saw of that skippy. Lol they really do work!

I was also skeptical about this lure, I nevertheless asked my cousin to bring it back for me from the U.S.
When I received it I was itching to try it out, I went to the private dam and a river on the same property......never had so much fun in my life!
Caught 38 bass in a session!
It works like magic!
The elastic bands help as well for not getting hooked up but you run out of them quite quickly!
Here are 2 photos of the bass caught on the banjo minnows:

both of these were taken 2 years ago so there are most probably better lures out there.

Wahaha. I remember those lures. I got my hands on some and also had some fun at a local vlei.

I must add that the action of those lures were very realistic.

I got myself the very first Banjos when they sold it in South Africa. I still have some of them. They don not look as good as the new ones I saw on the link, but let me tell you, they catch fish.

So it just goes to show again, its not what the lure looks like, but how it swims.

Then on the other side, if you don't fish the Banjo correctly your success is not that great. The jurk and let it die technique always works for me. It is all about the action you put into the lure.
