Hey all,

Seeing as we have a section on where to go fishing for bass, i was thinking....rarely happens but it did.:D

Why not have a section on Bass shops, or fishing shops that stock Bass lures, rods, reels ext.

Hell, I personally haven't seen any one catch a Bass with his bare hands, would be cool though.
I think it would just help the people that are interested in our lovely sport, so they would know how to get hold of a rig and lures. Most of the small and specialized shops are not on the net, so you really only find them by word of mouth or by stumbling across them by accident.

So unless we are infringing on some adversing law, do you guys think we could pull this off?

Would appreciate the input..

ooooo, I'm fishing Inanda dam  on Sunday!! Will let you know how it went!
happy hunting

HI phr33dumb and the rest of you Guys

Great Idea:

Hers' some of the tackle shops I frequently spent large amounts of "bling-bling" at:

Bassworld Centurion, behind Makro.

Sollys Angling in the Watergeln centre in Garsfontein road, Pretoria.

Anagling Africa in Centurion, Lenchen Ave.

Zambesi Angling, opposite Monatana Crossing in Zambesi drive, Montana, Pretoria

Bouwer Broers in Voortrekker Road, Gezina, Pretoria and;

a New shop that opened in East Lynne in Pretoria in Stormvoel road, name unknown.

Oh yeah and almost forgot about Rod and Marine in Doornpoort, ad also in SA BASS magazine, little tricky to get to if you don't know how to get around, it's on a plot in a security area.

The last one I can think of is MIAS in Midrand, don't know the address but it's close to the Makro on the JHB Highway (well it's next to the highway but you can see it from the highway)

HI LH

Check out the post about this past weekend's trip/s

Do you buy the SA BASS mag?  There's a photo in one of the past issues (not to long ago) and the editorial staff reckoned it was the quarry in edenvale, however the background on the pic wasn't to be found at the quarry.  Ithought that if you could see the pic then maybe you could tell us where it is?

Anyhow, apparently there's another quarry just further up the road from the one that we were on Sat, will see if I can get more info and post it here.

Man, it was a bit of a stuff-up, see my other post about Presidents dam and you'll see why.  We, (mu Bud and I) wasn't even suppose to have gone to Presidents nor the Edenvale Quarry, we were supposed to have gone to The Bass Pond on the Middleburg side of Witbank, but we failed to get hold of the guys in due time to arrange to have gone there, so as a final resort we ended up going to the only two new waters we cyurrently knew of by then.

If I go there, The Quarry and Not Presidents Dam, I'll def give you a shout. Just know that we didn't even have 1(one) single bite, Really NOT ONE. Eish, that's why I wanted to find out where the "Other" quarry might be.

No my rod was already sold and kept aside by the time I got there on Friday and the guy wanted to sell me another but said that if i still wanted the rod I originally had in mind that their new stock would be coming in this week, so I'll go have a look before the end of this week.

This weekend we might be going to Buffelspoort Dam again, well at least for one of the days of the long weekend, just duno which one yet.

The best fishing shop in Botswana:

PAAM fishing and sports shop.

If you come fro the Tlokweng border Post, its about 10 km down the road on your right.

The owner is Bass mad, so chat with him :D

Prices are damn reasonable as well

If I might ask you guys. When going to a tackle shop have a look if they have Yum Whooly hawgtails in Chameleon color please. If they have let me know so that I can transfer money so that, that person can by them for me.

Good morning

Johanvc, please let me know which makes, which colours and what sizes of chatterbait I should get, as I'm going to Bassworld this afternoon?  I'll also have a look for those Yum Whooly's for you. If they do have I'll buy them and give them to you when me meet.

Had a tough night, couldn't sleep, far too excited!!

Hallo Hallo

Hmmmm will give you a call a bit later today and will let you know. Will first phone Atie or Richard from bassworld and find out what they have. I don’t know if they have stock because the last time I was there they were almost out of stock.

Have a look for them Yum’s but I Know Bassworld don’t have because they had to order the stuff from the US for me and made a boo boo on the order and some other color got here.

And how’s tonight going to be LMAO

Tonight, well, I'll probably fish in the lounge tonight.  Just dunno if the BOSS will be too happy about that, but excitement is excitment.
