let me put it a different way . There were no yellow tail at rocky only snoek. so if you after some fun there are snoek on rocky . but you never know with the changing conditions you could get tail in between the snoek .

Its all good. I'm just yanking your braid. $#@!* are fun to catch from time to time, especially on a light setup and feeding dik.

Don't be nasty. West coast sailfish is fun on light tackle and better than nothing.

Actually, with us, I think catching snoek is worse that nothing....perhaps worse than a bad day at the office.

So, I'm with Patrick on this :SSS, when i get mail that there is chit chat on the Yellowtail thread only to find out its SNOEK, its like going from Hero to Zero in 0,2seconds.

Yip - heaps of fun. We had heaps of fun on spinners and (cries of dismay) rappies :) also got two katonkel.

Was a very special day. My son joined us for the first time on the boat four and half years old and brave as anything - the early wake up caught him though and he had a good sleep on the way back.

Had some sports with the baboons at the club while washing the boat - with a big male trying to hijack us :) trick is to scare them away quietly - a nervous baboon makes for a very stinky Rangie!

Hi all
we were at the point yesterday (Tuesday),launched at Buffels and there was a lot of fish in the bay .They were boiling and popping up all over.We just did not connect with them there. We then move around the point area were we had lots of action ,we got 15 Fish in 2,5 hrs .Water was 18.5 deg .We tried all colours of rapalas, and Storm lures .The fish were not fussy at all - they got hooked on nearly any colour that was presented. We tried green ,purple, orange and black, white body and red head,Gold. They took nearly every single colour. We were done fishing at 10:30 and the fish was still feeding on the deep divers and bungees when we left.Commercial were also filling up .
Just a point of note when we where on our way out of the bay between Rooikrantz and the point a yellowfin Tuna surface - we just seen a big swirl and the unmistakeable big sickel slicing through the water. Not sure what would have happend if we hooked him with our yellowtail tackle. We no experts but just a wild guess it could have been a 40 to 50 kg fish just looking at it very briefly.

It's a kak gaff. You can lift the fish out the water and it still will not go in. But the " fish fever" makes it even harder to gaff the fish.  The good news is we only lost one fish at the gaff so all in all it was good.
