I spoent this past weekend at Sodwana, Weather was great on Friday with small surf. Went North to Klein Witsand and quickly got a 5kg Skipjack followed by 2 yellowfin of about 4kg each . Hour later we got a 17kg Yellowfin.

Saturday the surf was a lyttlle moe challenging but Ok. Quite a stiff Northerly breeze of about 10 knots. Put out halco 190's and got another 3 yellowfin of about 4kg's each. Wind picke up deep so we went sahllow to try for Couta. Trolled from 9 mile all the way to jesser point at 3km/h but not a single strike.

The wind then picked up to 20 knots so we beached.

Thanx for the advice Geronimoo. Will give it a try. Will be down at Sodwana on 28 Sept till 6 October. Will let you know what happened.

The purple Halco deepdiver/saurcerer is a bluefin magnet.

What I have also found is that the big tuna run deep.

Often on slowing down the lures sink and thats when a strike occurs.

I once used a purple jethead feather on japan that would sink quite quickly with the metal head and that produced a strike every time we throttled back !

Geronimoo,

Will you please post pics of your boat

Alongside the Ace Crafts, those hulls are the most underestimated seaworthy hulls in South Africa

Cheers
