Snoek fishing - the Miles method

First snoek fishing outing ever on Sunday.  Printed Mile's primer, studied it, memorised it and rigged up like the man said.  Went out Sunday found the boats, got the depth, tied on and gooied in the dollie.  Bang on.

Left out the bit about dealing with some serious attitude when boated but after making a plan we've been pointed in the right direction on the site this am, thanks HT.

Managed a bag limit, ja, ja I know that not all that its about, but can't help myself.

Miles a big thank you for patiently sharing years of accumulated knowledge in a simple primer that can put us novices into fish.

Hell, a picture's worth a thousand words, here's five hundred thank yous.....

Pat, you done moving? Looking at getting out there weekend 5/6 Jul. Man I want to catch something more along the lines of a tail or even a bonnito if they are still around... can't believe I'm catching more fish now in the middle of winter than during "season".

Nooit bru, the move happens this Sat/Sun. And then i need to run the bakkie in for 1000km's before i can tow again (blown head gasket replacement). You maybe got space on your craft the 5/6?

Swak luck man, at least now that motor will last you a long time. I can tow the croc with G1K1 but then the commercials are really going to have a good snigger... yep let's keep the channel clear until then.

Nice 156.

Yup you cant buy the kind of stuff Miles shared on this site. His attention to delivering detail is great.
Where was Sealine when I moved to Slaapstad 8 years ago...
156, kudos to you for actually listening and taking it all in, you got it the easy way and it paid off, just shows you the power this site has.
I had too learn the hard way - newbie soutpiel on a commercial boat. I took lekker abuse.

As for Miles...
I just hope he is going to share the same kind of detail for me when I finally jump into the deep looking like a beached whale to shoot that first tuna. Of coarse it is not going to be off my boat, but his!

Ja, let me get my last week done here. Catching nice Tuna here every day, but would you believe that i would rather be home and out catching fish with the rod!
Do you have any time off during the week to fish?

Anybody care to share this miles method with me, went out for snoek on Saturday for the first time and did not catch a sausage, watched all the other boats loading the snoek, was not a good feeling.

Smylie, where did you fish.
Saturday was slow fishing all over the place. Top boats were 4 & 10 a man commercial.
That's not a lot of snoek at all on a commercial boat, so I sure would not judge my abilities on Saturdays fishing if I were you.

Hell I got 1 and I've worked on a snoek boat when my mate needed crew and the boat we were on is a lucky boat.

Whats the boats name you were on?

Cheers
