On Sunday I fished a club outing in EL. Still new to the sport and the 4kg line has been a frustrating experience to date. At about 08:00 I had a good take on a shad head. The current was strong and I was in about 30m of water. The fish used the current to his advantage which resulted in a good long tussle before I could land my prize raggie of 35kg. ::SWow, what a fight. My best to date and on 4kg line. A full 3 hours. Previous trips ended in frustration as I would lose the better fish. Fortunately some of the club members gave me some pointers and I changed rods. Using a longer more supple rod I could put max pressure on the fish and not risk snapping line.  Looking fwd to the next one.

Straight in front of West Bank Golf club. In about 25-30m water. There were 8 light tackle boats fishing the morning and in total +-700kg was caught. I spent most of the time fighting the 1 fish which can be a big disadvantage when chasing weights as the other guys notched up a lot of smaller sharks and skates which gave them a bigger bag. Still great fun.
