snoek trip to robben

We planned on launching on saturday to fish for some snoek at robben. Dorado75 promised me to show me a bit of atlantic fishing since I have never fished there.

After my plans failed we managed a launch on sunday. I was a bit concerned over the swell but it worked out good.

Got some nice size fish and got a whole lot of invaluable tips from the man! Well he helped me land the first load of snoek on my boat, need I say more? Thanks Dorado75 it was great fun. I have a video of him landing two snoek on a daiwa spinning reel. Is there any way for me to upload it here?

Johan, I am glad you got out and did it in style too.
The weather man got the whole weekend very very wrong. I headed off on Sunday with a mate to go catch some surf on the longboards and this huge big swell was nowhere to be found.

Get a smoker for those babies man. Smokes snoek is a winner.

Cheers

You can say that again, we also lost two fish to the buggers on the heavy tackle. They just dont want to let go...

My arm is still swollen from Saturday, lost a fish close to the boat when the line snapped and the marble size ball sinker i was using shot back and hit me, lucky it was only a arm shot and not a head shot, it could have killed me!!

Bingo, as jy wil snoek vang met light tackle dan vat jy vir dorado75 saam. Hy het daai snoeke geland met 10kg lyn en ons het nog 3 handlines ook ingehad!

Tuna fish, that was my first snoek fleck. Only used to kob, roman and that kinda stuff. After a quick lesson from the expert, that didn't work out so bad!

Nice going for your first time. Snoek on light tackle is a blast but i find they sometimes go pap after a long fight, the flesh that is !
