Prusik Knot

Just wondering - if you want to use live bait and 2 hooks is involved, will a Prusik knot
work ? - This knot can slide up and down and as soon as pressure is used on this knot then it will grab on the line and it won't move till the pressure is released.
This knot is mainly used on rope and rescue purposes

Could work, but would like to test it as there is a chance it will cut the mainline, maybe more wraps?

Yes more wraps will be preferable - that was only and image in case someone don't know what a prusik knot looks like.
Up to 5 or 6 wraps will be fine. I did test it when I was in Cape Town last month, after a seal took my Hottentot and broke my line and I had an empty knot on my line so I decide to make a prusik know because it was the fastest way to get my line back into the water and did not have yet a problem, but that was only bottom fish not sure how it will work for big game fish like Garrick, Kob or King Fish.
